The lights were low, smiles bright and throughout the air, you could feel the strength in numbers. I’m not just talking about the number of prizes or chips, I’m talking about the number of people charged and ready to make child abuse and neglect the underdog.
With our mission prominent, we were all well-aware of why we there and how important the night was to CASA of CGS and the children we service.
Hors d’oeuvres made their way around as Casino Night attendees poured through the doors, each dressed in their best and ready for an evening of fun, games, food and friends.
Everyone was ready to win! The prizes included a 55 inch HDTV; an in-home casino night with a one-hour lesson from a professional poker player; three-day two night stay and four lift tickets to Massanutten resort, in Virginia; photography session; foursome of golf at Ron Jaworski’s course and an autographed book; health baskets with shakes and yoga classes, Mary Kay beauty basket; various kids baskets with different toys; a day in Milville package; and Sixer’s tickets, just to name a few!
We were extremely fortunate to have Mesquite Honey provide live hits throughout the event. Nothing beats having talented musicians playing next to you while you work your magic in the pit! The music kept the morale and festive feeling strong through the evening.
A big thank you to our behind the scenes, all of our CASA of CGS volunteers and staff; a special thank you to MiSuk Russell from Fulton Bank, in Elmer; Marcelline Eachus and Amanda Broadwater, for volunteering their time on our event committee; The New Dodges Market for their always-delicious food; Millville Elks Lodge No. 580 for sponsoring and supplying the perfect venue location; our sponsors: U.S. Silica Co., Amanda Erickson Design and Photography, Arthur Horn, Brittany Clark, Cards or Dice Casino Entertainment, Cooks Cleaners, Cosmopolitan Restaurant, Cumberland Insurance Group, the Eachus family, Fulton Bank of New Jersey, Jack Hummel, the Kappeler family, KelliFit, Massanutten Resorts, Matthew Levin, NJ Home Construction, Old Navy, Outback Steakhouse, Ron Jaworski, Rose and Mint, the Sampson family, Starbound Gymnastics, Stringari & Stringari, CPA, Susanna Cummings and Mary Kay Cosmetics, Target, United Way of Salem County, Walmart, WheatonArts, Women’s Leadership Council of Salem County and World Gym.
And, equally important, a giant thank you to all of our participants and attendees.
Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts! Without you and your gracious efforts, we’d never be able to pull off such a successful, strong evening that brought an all-around awareness of the issues we work so hard to fight each and every day. Metaphorically speaking, I’m sure your throats were raw the next day, but we heard you loud and clear – every child deserves a voice!
See you next year!
