Meet Brittany Williams: A Voice for the Children!

posted in: Blog | 0
At CASA of CGS, our advocates mean the world to us! They selflessly dedicate their time to be a voice for abused and/or neglected children without ever asking for or seeking recognition in any way. Each advocate has a reason as to why they decided to join the fight against child abuse and be on the front line. Their compassion is incredible. We want to recognize them for their efforts and give our CASA of CGS family an opportunity to meet some of the superheroes we are so fortunate to have as part of our team!

Meet Brittany Williams!

Brittany grew up in Bridgeton, New Jersey. Her passion for advocacy is something she has always had and decided to join CASA of CGS in June 2014. She tells us, “I love to be able to use my voice and abilities to make a difference in someone’s life. Our children help shape our today, and will play a critical role in our future. The innocence of child is a commodity that should be wholly protected. I believe that every child should have a voice, a pleasant upbringing, and an opportunity to succeed. Advocacy is a proactive way to insure the latter.”

When asked what she hopes to accomplish by being an advocate, Brittany says,”My hope is to give every child an equal voice/say in regards to their issues. I believe that no matter who you are, or how old you, regardless of your circumstances, one deserves to have their voice heard. My hope is that every child, experiencing abuse or neglect, grows up knowing that someone has spoken for them. I pray that they grow up conquering every ill situation that they have face. Each child deserves a bright future, one that isn’t scared by issues that were beyond their control.”

In her spare time she enjoys being a musician, listening to music and learning various instruments. She also enjoys graphic and print design. Some of her favorite times in the past were spending time with family, especially during the extended time during the holidays. She says, “There is no greater unit on Earth other than that of family.” She also loves traveling with her husband.

When asked about something that has changed her life, she tells us, “While away in college, I had the opportunity to participate in several missions trips.  I served as a Construction Volunteer to help with relief efforts after Hurricane Katrina as well as aiding college aged students during the spring break activities and several other missions. While serving in these roles, I began to realize that one of the greater callings in life, is to extend a helping hand to your fellow neighbor. Life is so much more than personal feats or accomplishments.”

Her favorite quote is, “I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do.”–Edward Everett Hale

Brittany, thank you. Because of you, a child has a voice. You are contributing to the strength of a neglected child’s foundation. He continues to be enveloped with love and support because of your visitations and recommendations. Thank you for sharing your story, Brittany! CASA of CGS is proud to have you as part of our family! Please continue sharing your motivation and desire to help others! It’s because of amazing individuals like yourself that the children have a voice and a strong role model when looking for support and answers. Thank you for all that you do, not only for CASA of CGS, but for the children we service as well.
