Meet Vanessa Prestis: A Voice for the Children!

At CASA of CGS, our advocates mean the world to us! They selflessly dedicate their time to be a voice for abused and/or neglected children without ever asking for or seeking recognition in any way. Each advocate has a reason as to why they decided to join the fight against child abuse and be on the front line. Their compassion is incredible. We want to recognize them for their efforts and give our CASA of CGS family an opportunity to meet some of the superheroes we are so fortunate to have as part of our team!

Meet Vanessa Prestis!

IMG_4153Vanessa has been an advocate since May, 2013.Her drive to become an advocate came from wanting “to help children in any way possible and to show them that no matter how bleak a situation appears, it can get better.” Her main goal as an advocate is to help as many children as she can.

A resident of Newfield, Vanessa loves to read, paint her nails, go shopping and “gorge” on pizza. The most memorable times for her are when she enjoys the holidays with her family and quality time with her nephews.

When asked if she could pinpoint a person or thing that has changed her life, she said, “My nephews have unknowingly pushed me to succeed and be the best example for them that hard work pays off.”

Each of us have that one quote that stands out to keep us motivated or that has become concrete in our mind as we make our way through life. Vanessa’s favorite quote is, “To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Thank you, Vanessa, for sharing your story! CASA of CGS is proud to have you as part of our family! You are absolutely showing your nephews a true superhero with your amount of determination, strength and compassion. You make a wonderful role model! Thank you for all that you do, not only for CASA of CGS, but for the children we service as well.
