Everyone needs at least one person in their life that, despite their own obstacles, takes the time to encourage you to work hard and conquer your own.
Or, maybe you’re that person for someone else?
Either way, we all know that there’s no easy answer to anything. If you want to be successful, you must work hard, be patient and most importantly, NEVER give up.
Ahh, that sounds simple, right? When times get tough, just give up and move on? Absolutely not. When times get tough, they should instead show you how much you’ll appreciate the outcome. It is extremely difficult to remind yourself of that though while treading the waters of life.
Our lives are full of trials and hard times. Of course, some trials are harder than others, but we all handle them differently.
If you get to that point where you think you just cannot push any further, remember these statements:
- “Life is at its best when everything has fallen out of place, and you decide that you’re going to fight to get them right, not when everything is going your way and everyone is praising you.”
― Thisuri Wanniarachchi
- “Never question the clouds, they’re only bringing the life-giving rain.” – Amber Schamel
- “And hard times are good in their own way, too. Because the only way you can achieve true happiness is if you experience true sadness as well. It’s all about light and shade. Balance.” ― Gabrielle Williams
- “As the winds of the storm fortify the roots of a tree, hardship strengthens your spirit” ― Martin Suarez
Personally, one of the hardest things for me is working as hard as I can to finish school so I am able to jump into my field of study and begin utilizing what I’ve learned. But, as you know, waiting is extremely hard! Honestly, I have moments where I feel like giving up. As embarrassing as that is to say, I know I am only human and it’s completely normal. I am forever grateful for the people I have in my life rooting for me. The most important thing to have while on a journey to better yourself so you don’t give up, is an encourager. Find someone in your life who will pick you up when you’re down. When you feel like giving up, go to them. Look at where you were one year ago. Have you made progress? You most likely have. If not, set a goal for a year from now. Do something for you to better your outlook on life. It could be a class, weight loss goal, buying a home, managing debt … anything. With a little encouragement, you’ll be amazed at the difference a year can make!
