I don’t think I have ever met a child who didn’t love a good root beer float. For the sake of our overheated selves, let’s put a cool spin on this classic. With summer now in full force, the kids are home from school and in between playing, are looking for tasty ways to cool down. This definitely beats the typical plastic-covered, flavored ice pop!
Grab some popsicle sticks, a pack of small Dixie cups (or if you’re fancy, unlike me, and already have popsicle molds, use them), a bottle of root beer and a can of sweetened condensed milk.
That’s all. Simple right?
Follow these simple instructions and in a few hours, this classic treat will bring some summertime smiles to you and your family.
1 – 12oz. root beer or 1 1/2 cups
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
Mix root beer and sweetened condensed milk together with a whisk. If it gets to foamy, set it in the fridge for a bit to settle down. After an hour, the mixture should have set up enough to insert the popsicle sticks. Freeze for about another hour and you’re done! Perfect summer treat!
