Take a moment and turn your radio to WSNJ 1240 AM or your television to local Channel 2 at 4 p.m. today! Our own Jonathan Cummings will be on theRichard Hoch show to discuss how great the need is for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) in our area, how to become involved, and stories on how CASA has helped children. He will also focus on our next fundraiser, Casino Night!
Jon and his family served in Guadalajara, Mexico, running a non-profit organization there. As part of their efforts, a foster home was started that now serves 19 children who come from situations of abuse and neglect. Jon is excited about being part of the CASA team and about the opportunities for serving the children in our three counties. He and his wife have five children and two foster girls, who will always be part of their family, who live in Mexico at the foster home that they started.
This is your chance to learn more about our incredible organization and find out how you, too, can be a voice for abused and neglected children in our counties!
He is also director of Revive South Jersey, an organization that focuses on building a base of volunteers who can tutor, mentor, and run various programs. They also work with the Mexican-American association to run ESL classes; naturalization classes and other ways to meet the unique needs of the Mexican population in Bridgeton. In addition to that, Revive South Jersey listens to the community about their needs and develops ministries to meet those needs.
