Meet Kay Delp: A Voice For the Children!

It’s no secret that CASA of CGS has amazing advocates!

These incredible individuals equipped with hearts of gold, selflessly dedicate their time to be a voice for abused and neglected children. Volunteering for CASA is not your typical volunteer experience. It’s life-changing. Not only are you putting your heart and soul into something you believe in, you’re making a difference in a child’s life and in our community as well. Our advocates mean the world to us. Without their dedication and determination, CASA of CGS would cease to exist. We can never thank them enough for all that they do for the organization and for the children we serve.

Please take the time to meet one of our amazing advocates, Kay Delp.

Kay grew up on a farm and was raised in Lancaster and York Counties, Pennsylvania (Pennsylvania Dutch Country!). Growing up, her family always had one or more foster children their home. This fueled her drive to become an advocate for abused and neglected children, which she accomplished in November, 2012. One of the most important things about being an advocate to Kay is giving a child a voice. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, yoga and goes running several times a week. She also likes to cook and experiment with new recipes. Kay also works as a school psychologist for a local school.

Some of her favorite pastimes with her family growing up were camping at state parks in the pop-up camper and playing and building trails in the pine woods behind her house.

When asked if she could pinpoint a person who has changed her life, she said, “My son. He was born with a disability and that has certainly changed my life and experiences!”

Kay’s character shines through in her choice of favorite quotes: “Nothing you do for a child is ever wasted” – Garrison Keillor

Each advocate has a reason as to why they decided to join the fight against child abuse and be on the front line. Their compassion is incredible. We want to recognize them for their efforts and give our CASA of CGS family an opportunity to meet some of the superheroes we are so fortunate to have as part of our team!
