Sue Taney is the CASA of CGS Advocate of the Month for July!

Updated: Sep 29, 2020

The CASA of CGS program grows stronger and stronger each time an advocate like Sue joins the team. Her experience working with youth and her desire to improve the lives of

young people everywhere has been evident since we the day we first met her. Sue has a fantastic sense of humor and is an incredible advocate for mental health and loving the environment.

She joined the CASA family in August, 2018, and has since led two children to permanency: One of the children was recently adopted! Attending the adoption hearing proved to be a bit of a challenge, but everyone worked to make sure the happy occasion was witnessed by all involved and Sue's reaction was priceless. Sue is also currently serving another child on a separate case!

Her advocate coordinator, Cara, says "It takes a big heart to teach little minds.” I am delighted to nominate Sue Taney as Advocate of the Month for July. Sue is a rock star educator and a rock star CASA. She brings her expertise in education and child development to the children she serves. Sue has faithfully monitored and waited for her CASA child to get adopted, which finally happened this week! Sue is also serving a teen who is having some educational troubles to ensure that he receives all the supports he needs. Not only is Sue an amazing educator, but she is also a comedian! Sue is always there to lighten the mood and make you laugh. CASA of CGS is so lucky to have her as part of our team and so are the children she speaks up for in court."

Thank you for your service, Sue! We are grateful you are on our team!
